I am very sensitive to the to the energy of the environments I work in. When I visited Los Angeles in 2015, distinctly "American" images began showing up in my work for the first time: a chief in full headdress, Native American faces, ancient Spanish carraca, and other imagery strongly symbolic of American's history, most of which was completely foreign and new to me. I also started working on large dimension canvases for the first time. These pieces are part of my "American History" collection.
